Our Rules

A summary

  • Members are encouraged to participate in the democratic process and to inspire others to do the same, including but not limited to, voting, debates, and discussions.
  • Members are prohibited from engaging in deliberate discrimination or harassment based on wealth, social standing, race, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, religious faith, political belief, neuro-divergence, or disability, under any circumstances.
  • Members are expected to treat everyone with dignity and respect, but there is no expectation of extending this courtesy to those promoting hate speech or discrimination.
  • Members are expected to engage in economic discussions and decisions with the understanding that we are all striving for the public interest and the common good.
  • Members should be committed to protecting and upholding human rights at all times.
  • Members are responsible for considering the environmental impact of their actions and choices, and to strive for sustainability in line with scientific guidelines for the protection of ecosystems.
  • Members are expected to favour evidence-based practices, international best practice, and scientific consensus in policy and decision-making.
  • Members are expected to be advocates for social justice, equality, and the alleviation of poverty, homelessness, prejudice, and the abuse of power.
